Private Speedboat Tour

Going on a private Hurghada speedboat is one of the most exciting activities you can do while in Egypt. Sure, there are plenty of other shared options to visit islands such as Orange Bay or Paradise Island, but a private speedboat tour offers more thrill, comfort, exclusivity, and even access to islands only available to smaller boats, such as Hurghada’s White Island.
Hurghada White Island (Abu Monkar Island)
White Island, also known as Abu Monkar Island, is a smaller island compared to Giftun Island or other islands around Hurghada (not to be confused with White Island in Sharm el Sheikh). Its size makes it more private and exclusive. The island consists of a small sandbank with bright white, clean sand, surrounded by shallow waters ideal for swimming, relaxing, and capturing incredible photos.

There is no shade on the island, so bringing sunscreen is essential. Additionally, there are no facilities on the island, so you won’t find restaurants or beach beds. However, using the toilet isn’t a problem as most speedboats in Hurghada are equipped with one.
A Typical Hurghada Speedboat Itinerary
The stop on the island is usually around 30–60 minutes for shorter trips, which is enough for swimming and taking pictures. Depending on the tour, you may visit White Island or other popular islands such as Orange Bay, Hula Hula, or Paradise Island. You also have time to enjoy a drink or make some TikTok videos.

Orange Bay Island
The island trip is typically combined with snorkelling stops at nearby reef sites, either before or after the island visit. Snorkelling equipment, including a mask and fins, is usually provided.
Most tours include two snorkelling stops: one before White Island and one after.
On some trips, you may have the opportunity to watch dolphins in their natural habitat on your way to White Island or other islands. Dolphins are very common around Hurghada, and experienced guides know where to find them. Dolphin watching is a highlight for both adults and children. Make sure to tell your guide if you want to include this activity.
Duration of Speedboat Tours
Most high-speed boat tours last around four hours, including snorkelling stops, the island visit, and dolphin watching. Tours are usually available in the morning from 9 a.m. or in the afternoon from 1 p.m., with both pickups and drop-offs from Hurghada Marina, which is home to most of the boats in the city.

Food, Drinks and Boat Facilities
All speedboats usually include a small toilet, a freshwater shower, a high-quality sound system for music, and an icebox stocked with seasonal fruits, cold drinking water, soft drinks, and fresh juice.

You are also welcome to bring your own snacks, which can be stored safely on the boat.
Cost of a Private Speedboat
The price of a hurghada speedboat tour depends on the boat’s facilities, food and drinks offered, and the number of guests. Smaller speedboats typically cost around €100 for a four-hour trip, including an icebox with fruits, drinking water, and soft drinks. Larger speedboats with more amenities can cost up to €250 for a four-hour trip.

While the stop at White Island is usually included, some other islands, such as Orange Bay or Hula Hula, may charge entrance fees per guest.
Are Speedboats Safe?
Absolutely. Safety is always a priority on speedboats. All boats are equipped with life jackets, first aid kits, and are accompanied by professional guides who ensure your safety.
If you have little or no experience swimming in open water, this is not a problem. Guides provide extra assistance if you notify them in advance. On the island stop, swimming is easy due to the shallow waters, and in open waters, you will be given the necessary gear and supervision for a safe and enjoyable experience.
